The Arthur M. Sackler Museum of Art and Archaeology at Peking University is pleased to present new works by Cui Xiuwen, who is the 2016 artist chosen for the Dame Jillian Sackler International Artists Exhibition Program.

　　北京大学赛克勒考古与艺术博物馆很荣幸展示崔岫闻女士的作品，她是吉利安·赛克勒女爵士国际艺术家展览项目2016年遴选的艺术家。

　　Cui, internationally recognized for her video, photography and abstract paintings, will present a site-specific installation entitled Light, using sculptures, videos, animation and one painting to represent body, heart, soul and fate. Here, light represents the ultimate goal of being.

　　崔岫闻女士，国际公认当代独立女性艺术家，她在视频，摄影和抽象绘画等方面都有很深的造诣。此次在这里举办的题目为《光》的展览，将展示一套由雕塑、视频、动画、绘画组成的多媒介艺术作品，代表身、心、灵、命四个不同空间。“光”代表的是生命的方向和最终目标。

　　Throughout the ages and in multiple cultures and religions, "light" has represented God, the heavens, peace, or enlightenment; it is what we should all strive to realize for ourselves and for others.

　　古往今来，在多种文化和宗教里，“光”代表了上帝、天堂、和平、觉悟。这是人类的共知。

　　During these turbulent times, it is important to look to the heavens and to see that we are merely stardust particles and, although we may look different, our humanity dictates our paths to a common place, a place of understanding, a place of love, a place of peace.

　　斗转星移，风云变幻，仰望苍穹，生命不过一粒尘埃，当我们的生命全然的臣服于宇宙时，生命便有了方向。虽然我们不一样，人类的共性使我们向往一个共同的地方，一个相互理解的地方，一个有爱的地方，一个和平的地方，一个有光的地方。

　　Cui's light installation will begin at the entrance of the Museum with a set of soft sculptures (body) and will move across the courtyard, embracing the large scholar's rock (heart), through the corridor creating a passageway, measuring 22m long (soul), and into the main gallery, where one of her paintings will be deconstructed and projected on to the large wall, merging the geometric objects to create a blinding white light (fate). In addition, there will be video installations representing heaven and earth.

　　崔岫闻女士的作品“光”，当我们沿着作品的路径慢慢展开体验的时候，将从博物馆的入口处的一组软雕塑（身）开始，至庭院内装置拥抱巨大的太湖石（心），通过走廊构建一个22米长的通道（灵），最后进入主展厅，她的画作之一将被解构，并投射到巨大的墙面，以交错的几何形状创建一道眩目的白光（命）。此外，还有代表天地的视频装置。

　　The Dame Jillian Sackler International Artists Exhibition Program was established to bring talented international artists to the Sackler Museum at Beida. Artwork for this program must have cultural value in order to create an open dialogue between the work and the viewer. It is our mission to have exhibitions that are informative, exciting, interactive and, most of all, thought-provoking. The aim of this program is to create cross-cultural understanding and promote lasting relationships between peoples by showing works by artists from diverse backgrounds in China.

　　吉莉安·赛克勒女爵士国际艺术家展览项目旨在把国际上有才华的艺术家引荐给北大的赛克勒博物馆。为了在作品与观众之间创造一个开放的对话空间，此展览项目的艺术作品必须具有文化价值。我们的使命就是举办内容丰富、激动人心、双向互动、尤其是引人深思的展览，其目的在于创造跨文化的理解，并把具有不同背景的艺术家及其作品介绍给中国，以此来增进人们之间长久的友好往来。
