站台中国当代艺术机构荣幸地宣布,将于7月26日在 dRoom空间 呈现艺术家马可鲁个展《春之祭》,展览由策展人王将担纲策划,展期将持续至8月30日

《春之祭》将展出马可鲁在2006年归国后所创作的同名抽象系列。这些作品生成于艺术家个人命运的特殊时期,是他对“青春与生命”的感发和书写。显而易见,鲜亮透明的色彩、挥洒淋漓的笔触成为了这些画面的重要特征,深情与诗意充溢其间。而其中映现的“风景意象”,则回应了马可鲁艺术生涯早期的写生创作,显露出一种抽象绘画语言的来处。

本次展览与《马可鲁:光景 1972-1984》平行呈现。它们提供了研究艺术家创作脉络的比较样本,揭示出具象与抽象在其作品中的辩证关系。

Platform China Contemporary Art Institute is honored to announce that the solo exhibition "Sacrifice of the Spring" of artist Ma Kelu will be launched on July 26, 2020. Curated by curator Wang Jiang, the exhibition will last until August 30.
 
Rite of Spring will put on display the same-name abstract works created by Ma Kelu after he returned to China in 2006. Created in the special period of the individual fate of the artist, these works demonstrate his feeling and description of “youth and life”. Notably, bright and transparent colors and free brushworks become the important features of the frames, overflowing with deep feeling and poetic flavor. Moreover, the “landscape image” reflected by the works respond to the paint from life creation of Ma Kelu in his early artistic career and show up the source of the abstract painting language.

This exhibition is presented in parallel with Ma Kelu: Time, Scenery, Light and Life 1972-1984. They provide the comparative samples for studying on the creation context of the artist and reveal the dialectical relationship between concretization and abstraction in his works.

我的绘画是反风格化的,对于任何固定不变的不断重复的作品,我会感到厌倦与无趣……面对白色的画布时,我永远有一种恐惧感,无常的生命旅途中的不可知……艺术与生活如两条永不交汇的平行线交替着引领而行。绘画,这几乎是一种疯狂,一种不可能,但正因如此,我们乐此不疲,并毫无退路……绘画于我是一种生存状态,一种精神的游离,它的变化是它的恒长状态,它相对稳定的时间段则仅仅是为积蓄新的能量,去面对未来即将出现的机遇与挑战。

“My paintings are anti-stylistic, I become bored and uninterested on any fixed and repetitive artwork.When I stand before a white canvas, I always have a sense of fear, the unknown in the everchanging life journey... Life and art are two parallel lines that will converge, taking turns to guide me. Painting, is almost a madness, an impossibility, because of it , we are tirelessly enjoying it that give us no path to return... painting is my way of existence, a spiritual drift. Its transformations is constant, and its relatively stable phases is only a time to store new energy in order to face future opportunities and challenges.”

马可鲁,1954年出生于上海,后迁居北京。从文革时期到二十世纪八十年代间,他独立于中国官方的艺术实践,开启了富有创新精神的艺术生涯,是七十年代“无名画会”的参与者。他参加了1974年的地下艺术展和1979年无名画会的公开展,80年代初开始成为北京抽象艺术实验小组的一员。1988年他赴德国辗转瑞典丹麦,后定居纽约。次年获美国斯古海根绘画雕塑学校艺术基金会奖金赴缅因州创作。1989-1990年就学纽约州立大学帝国学院艺术系,其后于纽约持续创作多年,2006年后他回国定居,开始了全新的绘画实践。



Ma Kelu was born in Shang Hai in 1954, and moved to Beijing later. He launched his career in 1970, developing a rather innovative artistic career independent from the official Chinese art practice during the years of the Cultural Revolution and in the late years of the 1980s. Ma jointly organized and participated in “No Name Group.” He participated in the underground art exhibition in 1974 and the exhibition of the No Name Group in 1979 in public. In early 1980s, he became a member of Beijing abstract art experimental group. In 1988, he traveled to Germany, Sweden and Denmark, and then settled in New York. The following year, he won a prize from the Skohagen School of Painting and Sculpture Art Foundation to create in Maine. From 1989 to 1990, he studied in the Department of Art, Imperial College, New York State University and constantly work in New York. In 2006, he returned home and settled down, continued to produce abstract paintings.



王将,一位活跃的当代艺术策划人与创作者,从2016年至今策划的机构展览与独立项目近50场,近期主要兴趣集中在艺术社会学与神话学。他在常规策展工作之外,是一位拓展策展语法边界的冒险者,并逐步建立出一种新范型。

Wang Jiang, an active curator and producer of contemporary arts. He has been curated about 50 exhibition and independent projects since 2016. His main interests are focus on art sociology and mythology. In addition to his regular curatorial work, he is an adventurer who expands the boundaries of curatorial grammar and gradually establishes a new paradigm.
